Some helpful advice/tips
Avoid brushing your hair while it's still wet: When the hair is wet, it's at its weakest. Brushing/combing while wet will lead to damages that might make your hair even more damaged
Turn the heat down: Turning the heat down on blow dries, straighteners and curlers can really lower the damage to the hair. Better yet, avoid using them as much as possible!
Wash every other day: Washing your hair every other day instead of everyday, can really help the hair regain its natural oils. This is due to the acidic content found in shampoos that strip hair of its oils.
Things to avoid
Elastic hair bands: Although they can be handy, these little guys can be very damaging to the hair, especially when it gets caught. They're notorious for causing hair damage due to tearing and stretching of the hair
Rough fabrics: If possible, avoid using fabric (for your pillows) that can dry out your hair. That includes cotton too. Try something more gentle and silk-like
