2012 Summer Haul! (Picture Heavy)

So today I went shopping. It was my first time buying make up since I don't normally wear anything. Also I was too nervous to ask my mom about it but eventually I got over it. Let me show you guys what I bought:

First thing I purchased was the NAKED 2 palette from Urban decay.

The back shows you how they (powders?) look like and what colors there are. They had open samples so I had no real problems with seeing them.

Here are the colors and how the inside looks. There's a picture on the back to show how the brushes that came with it, looks like and what it's for.

Depending on the palette you purchase (1 or 2) you get a free sample of their primer or a lip gloss!

My next purchase was BB Cream from Clinique. My color is Number 3. It appears really soft and blends in really easily.

My first make up brush!!! I bought it so that I could apply my make up easier without messing up my hands.

So this was on my wish list. Urban Decay's Primer potion! I use it before my eye shadow and look! I comes in a new casing now.

Here's how it looks open. Pretty decent size I guess since i'm new to make up.

So I got this for free. A make up spray. You spray it over your completed make up, so that it lasts longer.

Lastly, I purchased more lip gloss! I love this color because it looks so natural!
I know this post wasn't much because I got home really late so I might do a review tomorrow? Or a video..when I learn how to edit them. So stick around for updates!

Oh! And here's a new top I bought. It's supposed to be strapless but I got to lazy to change so I just wore it over normally.

Yummy healthy dinner: Chicken Teriyaki made from scratch!

Okay, first thing: I changed my blog's url from petite-dovahkiin to mydarlingbunny okies? It sounds much cuter! Anywho, on to the recipe. It's simple and easy to make on your own!

What you will need:
  • Apple Mango
  • Cabbage
  • Green onions
  • cucumbers (optional, for display)
  • boneless and skin-less, chicken thigh
  • 1 tbsp of sugar (per thigh)
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce (per thigh)
  • 2 tbsp of Sake (per thigh)

Now wash and prepare your fruits and veggies. They will be used as a design for your meal! (It makes it look nice) Optional: If you're good at designing shapes for your veggies, feel free to do so!

(I forgot to take a picture of these two) Make sure to peel the skin off of the apple mango and chop up some green onions. The green onions will be used as topping for the rice and add some flavor!

Chop your chicken thigh into big chunks (cutting them smaller will come later)

Depending on the amount of thighs you purchased (before cutting) the amount of Sake, sugar, and soy sauce you use must be exact. (1 thigh= 2 tbsp of soy sauce and sake, 1 tbsp of sugar) and mix together into a bowl.

Place meat into a large wok or pan and cook at medium heat. Wait until all the red (blood) disappears from the meat, before adding the sauce into it. Cook until the sauce caramelizes (or become syrup-y) and then remove the meat while the sauce thickens a bit.

Chop up the meat into chunks and place back into the wok. Mix and cook for another 5 minutes or so. Once you are done, finish designing your plate! Place the meat on top of the cabbages and on one side, have some sweet fruit!
Using a measuring cup, or any cup/ small bowl, scoop up some rice into the bowl and place the contents into the plate. That way, the rice has a neat shape (like in the first picture) to make it look neat. Top it off with some green onions and you are done!

That's all for now you guys! Hope you enjoy this simple recipe!

Lemons: natural acne scar Treatment

Lemon juice is sometimes the main ingredient for a lot of natural remedies. Heads up before trying this: the treatment is recommended for hyper pigmentation, meaning discoloration of the face caused by acne scars.

For this treatment, you will need fresh lemons, not the ones that are pre-made or limes.

Get one lemon and cut it in half. Use about one tablespoon of lemon juice. After, use cotton balls, dip it, and apply over the face. Leave it on for about 20-40 minutes and rinse off. Results won't show right away and might take a couple of weeks to a month to show results!

How to steam your face

Steaming your face is a wonderful way to clean out your pores

You will need the following:
  • A headband to keep your bangs back and out of your face
  • A large bowl
  • Hot water
  • A towel
The rest is easy enough to do. Just boil the water and pour into a bowl (not a glass one or you might hurt yourself) and set down on a flat surface. Now place the towel over your head and soak in the steam for about 5-10 minutes. When you are done, you can place your products onto your face (they will work much better now that your pores are open) and repeat this method at least once a week.

Fruits and Veggies vs Junk Food

Fruits are my favorite thing in the world! They're so sweet and some go very well as snacks. They help out the body so much that not a lot of people remember how. Read on for ideas in a healthier diet!

There are many reasons as to how fruits and veggies do wonders for our bodies. Here's some reasons:

  • Apples: They can help lower harmful cholesterol, bone loss, and it's considered the healthiest fruit on earth
  • Bananas help give energy and reduce cramps (especially during that time of the month hehe)
  • Cherries help calm nerves
  • Kiwis can help increase bone mass
  • Mangoes can help fight against some cancers
  • Oranges help with skin and vision
  • Pineapples help with arthritis
  • Watermelon controls the heart rate

~Here is a chart on how certain fruits and veggies benefit the body~

Know about where your fruits and veggies have been!

Keep these in mind when you're out buying fruits and veggies! Pesticides can be very harmful to the body. Also remember to wash them before consuming to lessen the harmful chemicals!

We all have those moments where we constantly crave junk food.

 Craving:

Chocolate? Replace it with Fruits, nuts and seeds
Fattening food and oily snacks? Replace them with broccoli, sesame, and cheese

If you're eating out, here's some advice to keep healthy:
  • Avoid getting soda. Instead, get ice or lemonade.
  • Don't add anymore salt to your food
  • If your food is larger that you expected, take some home instead of wasting or eating more than you can really handle
  • Lessen the amount of sauces, cheese, and other fatty stuff by asking for it to be removed. You can also ask to have them on the side and add the sauces yourself!
